For the second time in threeweeks, AMC Theatres last frame set a post-reopening weekend attendance record both domestically and globally, with 2.5 million and 3.2 million respectively.
This came as Disney and Marvel Studios’ Black Widow lifted the total domestic weekend box office past $100 million for the first time since post-pandemic reopening.
This marks AMC’s second time breaking their post-reopening record in three weekends, after the frame when F9 debuted in late June.
According to a company press release, eight of the top 10 busiest cinema locations in the U.S. last weekend were AMC locations, led by the AMC Burbank 30 in Burbank, California.
Kansas-based AMC led Boxoffice PRO‘s Giants of Exhibition 2021 ranking of North America’s largest exhibition circuits, with 7,800 at 600 locations.
