PRESS RELEASE

CYPRESS, Calif. – (August 4, 2016) – Digital Media Systems (DMS) selected Christie® to provide the cinema projection technology for the August 1 world premiere of the Warner Brothers film “Suicide Squad” at New York City’s Beacon Theatre. The film receives its general release August 5.

Written and directed by David Ayer and based on the DC Comics characters, the “Suicide Squad” plot involves a secret government agency that recruits incarcerated supervillains to carry out dangerous missions and saving the world from an unknown yet powerful threat in exchange for clemency. The movie stars Oscar nominee Will Smith, Oscar winner Jared Leto, and Margot Robbie.

Warner Brothers chose Digital Media Systems to provide the technical support, integration, and installation for the film’s debut. A preferred Christie partner, Digital Media System’s long-standing relationship with Christie gave it complete confidence in installing a Christie Solaria Series CP4230 projector to bring the Suicide Squad to life on the big screen.

“To bring movies like this to life at beautiful venues with world premiere execution and performance, we choose Christie equipment,” said Gregg Paliotta, President and owner of Digital Media Systems. “Christie Solaria projectors lit up the screen with bright, vibrant images that captured every minute flawlessly.”

“We are thrilled that Digital Media Systems chose a Christie projector for the world premiere of Suicide Squad,” said Kathryn Cress, vice president, global & corporate marketing, Christie. “Used in theaters around the world, Christie’s digital cinema projectors offer the best visual quality, ensuring an immersive experience every time.”

Digital Media Systems used a Christie Solaria CP4230 projector to produce seamless images on the giant screen. This superior 4K projection solution features the Christie 4K+4 advantage, which includes maximum performance for 3D and Christie Pixel Track™ technology for optimum image quality.
