Furious 7 enjoyed a record-breaking opening weekend in Russia. The latest entry in Universal’s Fast & Furious franchise claimed 90% of the market share in its first place finish over the weekend. The film earned a total of $15 million over 1,182 dates, becoming the widest release of all time in Russia and the highest grossing four-day opening in the market’s history. Furious 7 continues to race toward the $1 billion global mark; the film has grossed $800.5 million worldwide after only 12 days in release.
