GLOBAL: Turtle Power Rules the Overseas Box Office After $26.5M Chinese Debut

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles took a $26.5 million opening weekend in China en route to a $34.7 million frame at the overseas box office. The movie has now grossed a total of $244 million outside of North America and $434.5 million worldwide.

The Maze Runner refuses to slow down overseas. The film earned $23.8 million from 35 markets in its latest frame, including a $13.7 million Chinese debut. The Fox release has already grossed a $209.5 million overseas cume and has earned $306.5 million globally.

Gone Girl earned $15.3 million from 50 markets to reach a $142.9 million overseas cume. The thriller has grossed $279.5 million globally.

Annabelle continued to scare audiences around the world with a $13.5 million weekend from 62 markets. The horror film kept the top spot in Mexico with a $3.4 million hold, taking its local total up to $16 million -the highest overseas market for the WB release. Annabelle has grossed a total of $149 million overseas and $231.5 million worldwide.

Dracula Untold put in a $12.4 million performance from 61 territories over Halloween weekend. The film scored a #1 debut in Italy with a $3 million opening weekend. Brazil and Spain both retained the top spot, reaching market cumes of $6.4 and $4.9 million respectively. Dracula Untold has grossed a total of $136.1 million overseas and $188.9 million worldwide.

John Wick finished the weekend with a $6.6 million overseas haul. The action flick has grossed a total of $8 million outside of North America and $35.5 million worlwide.

The Book of Life put up a $6 million haul over Day of the Dead weekend from 20 markets. The film has grossed a total of $29.4 million outside of North America and $69.9 million globally.

Ouija drew in $5.7 million across 19 territories to take its overseas cume up to $7.7 million. A #1 debut in the UK brought in $2.2 million from 414 dates. The horror flick has grossed $42.7 million worldwide and will expand to Russia, Thailand, and Ukraine on November 13.

Big Hero 6 continues to hold well in Russia and Ukraine, its only two markets at the moment, finishing its second weekend in the region with a $4.8 million tally and a $10.9 million cume. The film will open in North America on November 7.

The Judge took in $4.3 million from 46 territories, bringing its overseas cume up to $29 million. The father-son drama has grossed a total of $68.5 million worldwide.

Guardians of the Galaxy earned $4.1 million from 11 territories in its fourteenth weekend of release.  The film has grossed an overseas total of $435.7 million and holds a global cume of $765 million.
