Warner Bros.’ superhero film Suicide Squad led the box office for the third straight weekend with $20.85 million. Sony’s animated Sausage Party took second place for a second consecutive frame with $15.48 million. Warner Bros.’ War Dogs debuted in third place and performed the best of the weekend’s three debuts with $14.68 million. Focus Features’Kubo and the Two Strings took fourth place and had the lowest opening of any of Laika’s five stop-motion animated films with $12.60 million. And Paramount’s historical action remake Ben-Hur crashed with a terrible $11.23 million opening in sixth place.
