USL, Inc. Announces New Software Advancements to the LSS-100P Light & Sound Sensor

PRESS RELEASE

Ultra-Stereo Labs, Inc. (USL, Inc.), a pioneer in digital cinema technology products for the motion picture industry, has made new technological upgrades on the LSS-100P Light & Sound Sensor.  The LSS-100P has been installed in over 5,000 cinema auditoriums and provides daily testing levels of digital projection and sound equipment.  The new advancements include: optical detection of test content, and power over Ethernet thereby simplifying production installations. The optical detection eliminates the need for the server to send a cue to the LSS-100P.  A red/green flash sequence is added to the start of the test content to begin the appropriate measurement script.

In addition to these latest upgrades, some new options have become available. With the LSS-100P Atmos® option, a technician can immediately identify possible speaker or amplifier problems in an installation.  Also, future enhancements will include readings on lamp flicker and sound distortion.  The LSS-100P will be on display, with tutorial sessions scheduled for industry technicians, in the USL, Inc. booth (#527) at the CineEurope convention, June 20-23, in Barcelona, Spain.

“Based on customer feedback, several hardware and software enhancements are being implemented.  These will add to the already extensive feature set of the LSS-100P,” stated Harold Hallikainen, Senior Engineer, for USL, Inc. “Our Light and Sound Sensor is instrumental in assisting cinema engineers on the maintenance and overall performance of their projection and sound systems,” commented, Tom Atkison, USL, Inc.’s Director of Technical Sales.  “This year at CineEurope, we will be available to demonstrate the LSS-100P and its latest software improvements,” added Tom.

For over thirty-five years, USL, Inc. has been a global leader for technical achievements in design, manufacture, research, and development of cinema products, and has been honored in receiving six (6) International Cinema Technology Association’s Manufacturer of the Year awards.
