Over the extended Labor Day holiday weekend, Sony’s horror thriller Don’t Breathe took the top spot at the box office for the second straight week with $19.70 million. Warner Bros.’ superhero movie Suicide Squad came in second place with $12.68 million. Disney’s period drama got off to a lackluster start after its pre-Oscar hype gave way to mixed reviews, with a $6.17 million opening. Fox’s sci-fi drama Morgan bombs with a $2.51 million opening, one of the worst debuts ever for a film starting in 2,000 or more theaters.
