Recognizing Excellence in the Moviegoing Experience
The Boxoffice Blue Ribbon is a recognition of excellence in the moviegoing experience for newly built or renovated cinemas across four metrics: design, technology, hospitality, and community engagement. A panel of judges score each submission independently, rating each cinema on a scale of 1 to 10. The cinemas that received the highest composite scores in our independent ratings were included in our final list.
We look forward to welcoming additional circuits and cinemas to future editions of this initiative. Any cinema in the world is welcome to submit any of its locations that opened or were renovated since 2020 for consideration for a Boxoffice Blue Ribbon. Our magazine founder, Ben Shlyen, recognized that the success of this industry depended as much on the “house” as on the “show.” Our Boxoffice Blue Ribbon guide pays homage to that spirit.
