Marcus Theatres today announced that the opening weekend of Toy Story 5 and strong carryover performances from several films delivered record total revenue and record combined concession, merchandise, and food and beverage revenue for a June opening weekend. Weekend highlights included:
- All-time highest total revenue for a June opening weekend
- All-time highest combined concession, merchandise, and food and beverage revenue for a June opening weekend
- Highest opening box office for an animated film since 2019 and the highest opening for the Toy Story franchise
- Best three-day opening weekend for a film in 2026
“For more than 30 years, audiences have grown up with Woody, Buzz and the rest of the Toy Story gang,” said Jeff Tomachek, president of Marcus Theatres. “What makes Toy Story 5 so special is that it brings together multiple generations in a way very few franchises can.
