Barco Confirms Five New Films from Universal Pictures and Focus Features for Release in Premium HDR by Barco

Coming out of CinemaCon, Barco has announced that five new films from Universal Pictures and Focus Features are set for release in the HDR by Barco premium format. In order of theatrical release date, the titles are: 

Focus Features’ Obsession (May 15)
After breaking the mysterious ‘one wish willow’ to win his crush’s heart, a hopeless romantic finds himself getting exactly what he asked for but soon discovers that some desires come at a price.

Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day (June 12) 
This summer, the truth belongs to eight billion people in a new original event film created and directed by Steven Spielberg.

Illumination’s Minions & Monsters (July 1)
The story of how the Minions conquered Hollywood, became movie stars, lost everything, unleashed monsters onto the world and then banded together to try and save the planet from their mayhem.

DreamWorks Animation’s Forgotten Island (September 25)
After lifelong best friends are transported to a mythic island, they discover that their memories of each other are the price of returning home. 

Focker-in-Law (November 25)
Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro reunite, joined by Ariana Grande, in a new chapter in the blockbuster Meet the Parents franchise.

Based on the company’s patented Lightsteering technology, Barco’s approach to HDR works by strategically redistributing light on screen to produce highlights that are over 6x brighter than traditional projection, while retaining rich details in the darks for greater depth, clarity, and range.
