Dolby Expands Dolby Vision+Atmos Footprint in Asia

Dolby Laboratories has announced new commitments from leading exhibitors in Taiwan and Vietnam for their Dolby Vision+Atmos theater solution, as well as continued expansion with existing exhibitor partners across the region. Shin Kong Cinemas, a major exhibitor in Taiwan, plans to open two Dolby Vision+Atmos auditoriums this summer. With that, Shin Kong Cinemas will become the first exhibitor in Taiwan with both Dolby Cinema and Dolby Vision+Atmos auditoriums. Galaxy Cinemas, one of the top exhibitors in Vietnam, plans to open five Dolby Vision+Atmos auditoriums over the next three years, with the first auditorium to open this summer.

In the past six months, MixC Cinemas opened its first Dolby Vision+Atmos auditorium in mainland China; SHOWTIME Cinemas introduced two Dolby Vision+Atmos auditoriums at its flagship Taipei Dome multiplex in Taiwan; Megabox expanded its Dolby Vision+Atmos footprint in South Korea with its fourth and fifth auditoriums, with the sixth set to open in May, and Major Cineplex launched the first Dolby Vision+Atmos auditorium in Thailand.
