LOS ANGELES – September 11, 2014 – According to Fandango, the nation’s leading moviegoer destination, the family drama, “Dolphin Tale 2” and the psychological thriller, “No Good Deed,” top this week’s Fanticipation movie buzz indicator and weekend ticket sales on Fandango, jumping ahead of “Guardians of the Galaxy,” which has dominated Fanticipation for the last two weeks. “Dolphin Tale 2” is outselling the original “Dolphin Tale,” while Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson’s “No Good Deed” is outselling the previous Sony thriller “The Call” at the same point in that film’s sales cycle on Fandango.
“There’s a battle ensuing at the box office this weekend,” says Fandango Chief Correspondent Dave Karger, “as two films, ‘No Good Deed’ and ‘Dolphin Tale 2,’ are selling virtually the same amount of tickets on Fandango to different audiences. A possible breakout hit for families, ‘Dolphin 2′ is the first big movie since ‘Planes: Fire & Rescue,’ that will appeal to kids of all ages. ‘No Good Deed,’ aimed at a more mature audience, is a spine-chiller garnering sizable advance ticket sales partially due to its great social media buzz.”
