The official press release:
LOS ANGELES – June 3, 2015 – According to Fandango, the nation’s leading digital destination for moviegoers and fans with more than 36 million unique visitors per month*, two raucous R-rated comedies, “Spy” and “Entourage,” are the top two weekend ticket-sellers with 83 and 79 points out of 100 points respectively, on Fanticipation, Fandango’s movie buzz indicator.
“‘Spy’ and ‘Entourage’ are working their magic with adult moviegoers seeking their summer comedy fix,” says Fandango Chief Correspondent Dave Karger. “‘Spy’ is appealing to Melissa McCarthy fans and action junkies looking for a fun espionage caper, while ‘Entourage’ is calling up fans looking to toast the long-awaited film version of the HBO series. About Fandango’s Fanticipation
Known for having its finger on the pulse of moviegoers, Fandango’s movie buzz indicator, Fanticipation, provides statistical insight into the movies fans are planning to see in a given weekend. Fanticipation scores (based on a 1 to 100-point scale) are calculated via an algorithm of Fandango’s advance ticket sales, website and mobile traffic, and social media engagement. Fanticipation is not intended as a forecast of the weekend box office; it is a snapshot of movie fan sentiment.
