OneCinema GmbH today announces a new partnership with Nordisk Film Cinemas to modernise digital signage operations across Scandinavia. Starting April 2026, Nordisk Film Cinemas will roll out OneCinema Signage across all 47 of its locations in Denmark, Norway and Sweden—making it the first major deployment of the platform in the Nordic region.

OneCinema Signage is the result of intensive development. Built as a fully cloud-native enterprise platform from the ground up, it communicates directly from the cloud to every endpoint—no local server infrastructure required at any site. The platform supports Android-based players and runs natively on Samsung Smart Signage and LG webOS professional displays.

A defining capability of the new platform is automated campaign management: the system continuously reads live programming data and generates digital signage content in real time, matched to the genres currently showing at each location. For a circuit operating across three countries, this level of automation significantly reduces operational workload while ensuring every screen communicates content relevant to the audience walking through the door.

Says Jan Rasmussen, Head of Screen Technology at Nordisk Film Cinemas: “Two things made the difference for us: the platform is genuinely cloud-native, and the automated campaign management is unlike anything else we evaluated. The system generates signage content based on what is actually playing at each location in real time — that is a meaningful operational advantage for a circuit of our size. And the fact that we could deploy across all 47 locations with almost no hardware replacement made the decision straightforward.”

Adds Joachim Schmitt, CEO of OneCinema GmbH, “Nordisk Film Cinemas is one of the most technically demanding operators in Europe. Their decision reflects what we have built: a platform that is cloud- native, hardware-agnostic, and designed for the operational reality of a modern cinema circuit.”
