Weekend Actuals: ‘Captain America: Civil War’ Leads With $72.6M; ‘Money Monster’ Debuts With $14.7M

With weekend actuals in, Disney’s Captain America: Civil War was up slightly from Sunday’s studio estimate, commanding a box office lead of $72,637,142. The weekend’s two new releases were slightly down from their Sunday estimates, with Sony’s Money Monster making $14,788,157 and High Top Releasing’s The Darkness earning $4,950,859. Meanwhile, Disney’s The Jungle Book placed in second with $17,115,708 and Open Road’s Mother’s Day rounded out the top five with $3,287,342.
