Wonder Woman took home the Best of Show top prize at Tuesday’s annual Golden Trailer Awards. The Warner Bros. superhero film’s successful marketing campaign — led by its trailers — helped launch the title to an impressive $103 million opening weekend, above other recent superhero origin films such as Guardians of the Galaxy and Doctor Strange.
Other big winners included July’s war drama Dunkirk for best drama, June’s R-rated The House for best comedy, June’s Baby Driver for best action, September’s It for best horror, and February’s The LEGO Batman Movie for best animated.
The awards, bestowed since 1999, are given in a number of categories, including best trailers by individual genres, most original, best teaser, and more. Judges this year included Dunkirk actor and Oscar nominee Kenneth Branagh, Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts, Kong: Skull Island director Jordan Vogt-Roberts, The Theory of Everything director Anthony McCarten, and Kung Fu Panda director Mark Osbourne.
