Silverspot Cinema Names Randi Emerman Vice President of Programming and Strategic Partnerships

CHAPEL HILL, NORTH CAROLINA (March 28, 2017) – Silverspot Cinema has named Randi Emerman Vice President of Programming and Strategic Partnerships.  She previously was Vice President of Marketing for the company.

In her new role, Emerman will create a program for Silverspot that exceeds current exhibition models, not only in the special event arena, but through activities with movie studio participation, theatrical marketing, event cinema, indie films, and specialty film series’.

“My vision is to elevate and expand Silverspot Cinema’s footprint beyond the industry and throughout the local communities and markets in which we serve,” said Emerman, a 30-year veteran of the film industry who also is a producer for Argus Entertainment.

Her multi-faceted career spans film marketing, publicity, production, exhibition and distribution along with live theater production and promotion.  Combine that with her networks and connections inside the industry and you have a recognized leader with a well-rounded base of expertise that is second to none.  Wither her “make it happen” philosophy, Emerman is known as a powerhouse for bringing talents together, while developing operational structure and partnerships for entertainment properties and cultural organizations.

As head of Marketing and Corporate Communications for Muvico Theaters she helped lead the team that created and branded some of the most innovative, unique, and highly attended venues in the country. Under Emerman’s tutelage, Muvico was thrust into the spotlight as she generated local, national, and international headlines for the company. During her years at Muvico, she spearheaded all theater, IMAX® Theater, and corporate marketing, promotions, and publicity. She was highly successful at creating programs designed to bring additional revenue streams to the circuit.

While with the Palm Beach Film Festival, Emerman consulted and assisted independent filmmakers, cultivating their efforts to launch their products. These included the following break-out films, all of which had their early starts at the Festival: The Boynton Beach Club,Joel Zwick’s My Big Fat Greek Wedding, The Little Traitor, and the award-winning documentary Broadway: The Golden Age, by the Legends Who Were There.

She was a producer of 10th and Wolf, written and directed by Bobby Moresco, the Oscar®-winning writer of Crash and is currently in pre-production on The Summer Before Forever, a Joel Zwick project.

With a deep commitment to the philanthropic community and industry trade organizations, Randi has served and currently serves on many boards, locally and nationally.  Her involvement includes Co-Chair, Marketing Committee for BOD; President of NATO of Florida; Chair of NATO’s ShowSouth; Committee Member, Showeast; Founding Board Member, Palm Beach International Film Festival; Founding Board Member, Bring Hollywood Home; Member of Board of Directors for the Beverly Hills International Documentary Film Festival; Member of Board of Directors for the Festival of the Arts BOCA; Co-Chair of the Hospitality Committee for the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival; Member of the Board of Directors for the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival; Gala Committee Member for the Boys & Girls Club of Broward County.

Silverspot Cinema currently operates 11 screens in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; 11 screens in Naples, Florida; and 13 screens in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.  Expansion includes 16 screens in Miami, Florida in 2017 and 9 in Cleveland, Ohio in 2018.
