As of the final day of 2025, Zootopia 2 has surpassed Frozen 2 to become the highest-grossing Walt Disney Animation Studios film of all time. Opening in late November to coincide with Thanksgiving weekend in the U.S., the film had the biggest-ever global animated opening of all time, driven in large part by a monster $271.6M debut gross in China. The film passed the billion-dollar mark globally in mid-December, becoming the third 2025 release to cross that milestone, following Disney’s Lilo & Stitch and Chinese animated fantasy Ne Zha 2, the only film to reach $2B globally this year.
Globally, Zootopia 2 closes out the year with a worldwide gross of $1.46 billion, $333M of that from the domestic market and $1.13B from international territories. Other key records include:

- #8 MPA international release of all time, surpassing The Lion King ($1.118B)
- Fifth Walt Disney Animation Studios film to cross $1 billion globally
