PRESS RELEASE
Milwaukee, June 20, 2017…Marcus Theatres®, a division of The Marcus Corporation (NYSE:MCS), will open BistroPlex℠ to the public at 9 a.m.on Friday, June 30. With a food first approach, this new concept features eight in-theatre dining auditoriums at 5210 S 76th Street in Greendale, Wisconsin (adjacent to Southridge Mall), plus a separate, full-service bar and lounge area.
“For those that like a little drama, comedy or suspense with their meal, BistroPlex is sure to deliver,” said Rolando Rodriguez, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Marcus Theatres. “BistroPlex provides culinary creations with a local flair, including gourmet smash burgers with entertaining names such as the Greek Goddess, Hollywood Heat and The Italian Job. There’s also a complete menu of cocktails, pizza, sandwiches, entrees, salads, appetizers and desserts – all of which are delivered to guests by our friendly in-auditorium wait staff. At this new venue, guests will go for the food and stay for the movie.”
Each auditorium features comfortable DreamLounger℠ recliners that have a side table to maximize the dining experience. The recliners can be adjusted with a push of a button allowing guests to go from seated upright while eating, to relaxing at a full recline during the movie. In addition, two of the eight auditoriums offer Marcus Theatres’ SuperScreen DLX® experience, complete with heated DreamLounger seating, oversized screens, and Dolby® Atmos® multidimensional sound with speakers along the front, back, sides and ceiling of the room.
“BistroPlex is a unique dining and entertainment concept for shoppers to experience, and we are thrilled that this first-to-market theatre is coming to Southridge Mall,” said Mary Mokwa, general manager of Southridge Mall. “We look forward to working with Marcus Theatres to create a great shopping, dining and entertainment experience for visitors from throughout the Milwaukee area.”
BistroPlex is designed to create a new offering in Greendale and the surrounding community. At BistroPlex, the emphasis is on creating a dining and entertainment experience throughout the entire building. Every auditorium will have in-theatre dining versus select auditoriums offering this experience. In addition, even popular movie theatre snacks such as popcorn, candy and soda will be available through the wait staff, versus a traditional concession stand for that special touch.
The culinary experience at BistroPlex continues in a separate bar and lounge area, where guests can mingle and dine on appetizers, entrees, desserts, cocktails and more. Plus, there are all-day breakfast items, some sandwich and salad standouts and a strong local connection with the food and beverage featured on the menu. With a separate entrance, patrons are not required to purchase a movie ticket to enter and enjoy this portion of BistroPlex.
BistroPlex also provides a customizable group entertainment and meeting option for birthday parties, group showings, in-auditorium business meetings, team building and other events. Marcus Theatres’ events team works directly with groups or businesses to plan a completely customized experience complete with a personalized food and beverage menu tailored to the group’s interests or event theme.
BistroPlex will be open to the public daily. For more information about BistroPlex and for showtimes, visit: www.MarcusTheatres.com.
