Forecasting the Top 3 Movies at the Domestic Box Office | February 13 – 15, 2026

Week 7 | February 13 – 15, 2026

1. Wuthering Heights
Warner Bros. | NEW
Opening Weekend Range: $35M – $45M

Pros

  • Warner Bros. is once again stepping up to the plate to prove they can sell challenging, auteur-driven movies to a mass audience. Margot Robbie leads this modern adaptation of Emily Brontë’s classic gothic romance, which has been brought to the big and small screens many times before. Sales are looking strong going into the weekend, with potential for over-performing and even hitting the $50M mark. As a producer, Robbie backed writer/director Emerald Fennell’s previous two arthouse hits Promising Young Woman and Saltburn, though both peaked at around $20M each WW. This one will need to reach a much broader spectrum of viewers in order to justify the hefty budget and marketing spend… and it might.

Cons

  • It is important to note that the target demo for Wuthering Heights is not necessarily an opening weekend crowd, as evidenced by a number of female-skewing titles over the past couple of years. If Wuthering hits, we will see the true impact in holdover frames come late February and into early March. Director Emerald Fennell has a singular vision that isn’t always audience-friendly, so exit polling will likely play a big factor in what we expect from this title in the coming weekends. Current 71% Critics Score on Rotten Tomatoes suggests it could draw mixed reactions from audiences.

2. Goat
Sony Pictures | NEW
Opening Weekend Range: $18M – $25M

Pros

  • Sony’s animated Goat finally steps in to fill the family gap now that Zootopia 2 is on Digital, looking to become the top animated title of the weekend. The studio is leaning heavily on its previous Spider-Verse animations in marketing; the first, 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, opened to $35.36M, which is aspirational for Goat. The release coincides with LA’s NBA All-Star 2026 event, which should offer solid cross-promotion ops. Current Rotten Tomatoes is coming in higher than Wuthering Heights at 81%.

Cons

  • We’re expecting an opening weekend in the low-$20M’s, but wouldn’t be surprised if it settles into the high-teens. The four-day Valentine’s Day/President’s Day frame could reach up to $30M, as parents are likely to move on from Zootopia 2‘s box-office dominance among families. Unlike Zootopia, this one is likely to lean harder towards male appeal. Good comps would be the previous two partly-animated basketball family movies Space Jam ($27.5M opening) and Space Jam: A New Legacy ($31M opening).

3. Crime 101
Amazon/MGM | NEW
Opening Weekend Range: $8M – $13M

Pros

  • Four Marvel stars (Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Barry Keoghan, Halle Berry) headline MGM’s thriller Crime 101. That star power should help this counter-programmer catch some eyeballs among adult audiences, but we think it’ll be no match for Wuthering Heights‘ appeal as a date-night champion.

Cons

  • A performance in the low teens is likely, with potential to hit around $15M for the four-day holiday weekend. There’s also a chance it can’t carve out a spot at the box office, possibly underperforming below $10M if it’s overshadowed by Wuthering Heights and Goat.
