Long Range Forecast — April 10, 2026
You, Me & Tuscany | Universal
Domestic Opening Weekend Range: $12M – $18M
The Little Mermaid‘s Halle Bailey and Bridgerton‘s Regé-Jean Page star in rom-com You, Me & Tuscany, about a free-spirited woman who travels to Italy to stay in the empty villa of a casual acquaintance, pretends to be said acquaintance’s fiancée when his family shows up, then falls in for an uptight lawyer.
Theatrically released rom-coms have had a rough go of it over the last decade. The ones with the biggest impact tend to be R-rated—see: last year’s Materialists ($36.5M domestic total), 2024’s Anora ($20.4M), 2023’s Anyone But You ($88.3M), 2018’s Long Shot ($30.3M), and 2017’s The Big Sick ($42.8M).
PG-13 rom-coms, a category You, Me & Tuscany falls into, have with few exceptions migrated to streaming. Of recent PG-13 rom-coms, the box office heavyweight is Warner Bros.’ 2018 release is Crazy Rich Asians, which opened to $26.5M en route to a $174.8M domestic total. You, Me & Tuscany is tracking closer to another PG-13 rom-com: Universal’s 2022 film Marry Me ($7.9M domestic opening, $22.4M domestic total), starring Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson and directed by You, Me & Tuscany‘s Kat Coiro. On the slightly higher side in terms of PG-13 rom-com box office are Universal’s Last Christmas, ($11.4M domestic opening) and Warner Bros. release Isn’t It Romantic? ($14.2M domestic opening), both from 2019.
Looking outside of rom-coms to PG-13 female-skewing comedies in general, previous mid-to-late April releases include Universal’s Little ($15.4M domestic opening) and STX Entertainment’s I Feel Pretty ($16M domestic opening).
